Yesterday, rain was predicted all day (even up to a 90% chance at times), so we planned on staying in today doing laundry and catching up on blogging, etc. We awoke to a combo of sun and clouds. A quick check of the weather showed sun all day and 0% chance of rain. We needed to go grocery shopping and maybe take in an outdoor market or two, so based on the weather forecast predicting perfect weather, we dropped our plans to stay in, got all gussied up, and headed out the door with our "chariot" (cloth wheeled cart for toting groceries and other stuff). Wouldn't you know, as soon as we got outside, the rain started. John went back for umbrellas (our third trip upstairs for forgotten items). I should have been suspicious at this point, given that the weather report said there had been no rain in the last 24 hours even though it poured rain yesterday afternoon and evening. Fickle French weather.
Once we were finally on our way, we quickly figured out that today was a national holiday and most places were closed. We did, however, find a grocery store that was open and bought rations for a few days so we wouldn't have to survive on bread alone (darn!).
It was home again (still in the rain) to do household "catch-up" things and relax.
BTW, I think I fixed the blog settings so that now one can respond/leave a comment without having to log in and get a password and give up your firstborn child.

P.S. As soon as we walked into the apartment, the rain stopped and the sun came out! Like I said, we'll never figure out French weather forecasts. I have to admit, we really enjoy seeing the rain; something we haven't seen nearly enough of in California.
P.P.S. Only one photo today since we didn't do much photo-worthy.
